Workshop on Student Emergency Management
The Workshop on Student Emergency Management was held on August 6, 2026, at the Sacred Heart Hall, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) St. Rita (M), Sibu. The program was officiated by the Headmaster of SK St. Rita (M), Mr. Gerard Bugin Legak, who also serves as the program advisor.
This workshop was jointly organized by SK St. Rita (M) and SK Bandaran Sibu No. 2, and is one of the activities under the Puteri Sihat, Puteri Hebat (Healthy Princess, Great Princess) Program. The program aims to enhance the preparedness of teachers and Support Staff (Anggota Kumpulan Pelaksana - AKP), including clerks and Student Management Assistants, in handling emergency situations involving students at school.
A total of approximately 120 teachers and support staff from three schools participated in this workshop, namely:
SK St. Rita (M), Sibu
SK Bandaran Sibu No. 2
SK Sacred Heart, Sibu
The workshop speakers and facilitators consisted of officers from the Sibu Divisional Health Office, who shared their knowledge and conducted practical training related to emergency management in schools.
At the same time, Joy & Health Pharmacy, acting as a strategic partner for SK St. Rita (M), set up a free blood pressure screening counter exclusively for the teachers and support staff as part of an effort to foster healthcare awareness.
It is hoped that this workshop has provided knowledge, skills, and confidence to all participants in facing emergency situations at school, thereby creating a safer and more conducive learning environment for everyone.
